Today I'm talking to Carolina Mountford: - Mental Health Advocate, eating disorder survivor, blogger, writer and speaker. Carolina talks to schools, church groups and other organisations about mental health, eating disorders, body image, trauma and depression. In this episode, Carolina openly shares her journey in struggling with an eating disorder for 15 years and how she eventually overcame this.
Carolina talks about her early family life; sadly being put on a diet at the age of nine years old and then becoming aware of a family bereavement that rocked her worth to the core. She goes onto to talk about her recovery journey, with the ups and downs of trying to access support, to finally finding genuine food freedom. This is a wonderful story of inspiration and hope. Today I interview Victoria Stockwell - Researcher, Ex Body Builder and Personal Trainer. Victoria has suffered from disordered eating behaviours from the age of 11. Victoria shares openly about her journey in working to overcome disordered eating, looking at possible triggers, the ups and downs of this road and finally getting help. Victoria also talks about her ventures as a competitor, into the Body Building world, and the impact this had on her eating and body image. Today I interview my first guest - Jayne Hartley, who is a personal trainer, mum of 3 and owner of Fierce Fitness, in Clavering, near Saffron Walden.
Jayne started dancing from the age of 5 – later training as a professional dancer; she’s also a fully qualified nurse and is now a personal trainer.
Today, Jayne is in a great place with eating and body image, but it hasn’t always been this way. Jayne talks about her journey in finding peace with food and the things that have helped her achieve this.
